WHY BECOME A CONTRIBUTOR TO THIS COLLABORATIVE BLOG
It is easy to become a Blogger, but it is a challenge to build a long term Blogging presence that continues to deliver value to the targeted audiences. In reviewing multiple Blogs related to management and organization development the following characteristics were observed:
- They all start out full of energy, posting on the average 2 Blogs a week. After 12 months, the Blogs begin to average 1 a week, and for those that continue (and many do not) after 24 months, the Blogs are usually 1 a month.
- Content changes over time. Initially the posts are rich in content related to the individual’s specialty. Over time, there is a tendency to post Blogs that either support or take issue with other published Blogs, articles and books.
- Original content becomes a rarity.
By being part of a collaborative Blog these negative tendencies are overcome. Frequency of publishing can be maintained with content pooled from multiple sources.
There is no reason to discontinue your own Blogs as they will be linked from both your contribution posts and your bio – which will be in the About Us section. Having your own Blog is an advantage in promoting your own brand, and product/services that you may be marketing. By cross-referencing this Blog with yours, you open up the potential of both of us increasing a loyal subscriber base.
